There has been a lot of debate over the years about exactly what grip Roger Federer uses when he hits his forehand. For that reason I made it a goal of mine to get some super clear, slow motion footage of him up close the last time I filmed him hitting so that I could find out for myself. The results might surprise you! The fact of the matter is you don't need a semi-western or full-western forehand grip in order to hit great topspin. Not only is eastern enough but several ATP players are less aggressive than eastern. Food for thought!
